DEP Completes New Solar System at Central Union Church

 

HONOLULUwww.dephawaii.com – Central Union Church today announced it is expected to save almost $12,000 in energy costs per year through its new 116 kW photovoltaic (PV) system installed by Distributed Energy Partners (“DEP”). DEP installed the solar system on the Women’s Building and Parish Hall at Central Union Church’s 8.4-acre campus in Honolulu.

 

“Helping Central Union Church take advantage of Hawaii's natural resources with a PV system has been a privilege,” said Steve Mazur, DEP’s Senior Renewable Energy Developer. “I commend the members at the church who committed to find ways to reduce electricity use through a series of efficiency projects along with the PV installation. The PV project will set a great example to the community of ways to reduce our dependence on imported oil and making choices that will benefit our generation and future generations.”

Island Insurance Foundation Donates $15,000 to Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP) Hawaii

The Island Insurance Foundation has donated $15,000 to Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP) Hawaii in support of the organization’s Lifelong Mentoring Programs.  Tyler Tokioka, President of the Island Insurance Foundation, presented the $15,000 check to KAMP Hawaii Executive Director Aaron Kamau, KAMP Hawaii youth mentors and members of its Mentors-in-Training program at a presentation ceremony held at Farrington High School.

Founded in 2005, Kids At Risk Mentoring Programs (KAMP) is a Hawaii-based non-profit organization that focuses on disadvantaged, at-risk youth and children with disabilities. KAMP Hawaii’s goal is to provide outreach programs that reach all youth from every spectrum of society. 

AMA Hawai‘i Announces New Individuals Awards for 38th Annual ‘Hawai‘i Marketer of the Year’

The Hawai‘i chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA Hawai‘i) is now accepting applications for the 38th Annual Hawai‘i Marketer of the Year. Winners will be honored at the annual AMA Hawai‘i Marketer of the Year awards luncheon on April 9, 2015 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel.

New individual recognitions this year include the AMA Lifetime Achievement award and AMA Young Marketer of the Year.

Companies are encouraged to enter their work in the following categories: Best Marketing of a New Product or Service; Best E-Marketing; Best Rebrand Marketing; Best Marketing of an Event; and Best Non-Profit Marketing.

Last year’s winners included: Hawaiian Host, Hospice Hawaii, Hawaiian Telcom, Aloha Petroleum, Ltd., Focus Opus and Hawaii Fashion Incubator.

Stephanie Dureg joins Prudential Locations’ marketing team as the new e-marketing and communications specialist. Her impressive background includes experience in photography, graphic design, page layout and web design, email marketing and reporting. Most recently, she worked as a production assistant at PBS Hawaii. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Media from Pacific University.
