HPD searching for wanted fugitive

Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted for two $50,000 cash only Felony Contempt warrants for failure to appear in court on July 25.

On Sept. 12, 2008, officials say Solomon Luke approached a woman and her husband walking on Ala Moana Boulevard near Holomoana Street at about 10:30 p.m.

Luke allegedly grabbed the woman's purse and attempted to flee. The victim's husband then struggled with Luke to retain the purse.

Luke was later located on Piikoi Street and arrested for second-degree robbery.

According to officials, the 22 year old was also detained on Feb. 27, 2010 on a trespass complaint at Kahala Mall. He was placed under arrest for promoting dangerous drug in the third degree and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Luke is described as a Caucasian. He's 5'10" and 173 pounds.

Man involved in multi-vehicle crash arrested for drunk driving

A man was arrested for drunk driving following a two-vehicle crash in Waikiki Wednesday morning.

According to officials, the accident happened just after 4 a.m. on Kalakaua Avenue and Ena Road fronting the 7-Eleven.

Officials say the driver of one of the vehicles, a 25-year-old male, allegedly hit the other vehicle on Sheridan Street. He then fled the scene along with his 27-year-old passenger.

The driver then chased the 25 year old, but when turning down Ena Road, both vehicles lost control and collided into a street light.

Police then arrested the 25-year-old man for drunk driving.

No major injuries were reported.

A sign attached to the street light is down. The City and County's street light division was notified and will make the necessary repairs.

Police searching for couple in Waikiki hotel robbery

Honolulu police are searching for an armed couple who held up a visiting man from Ohio outside of the Waikiki Banyan Hotel early Monday morning.

According to officials, the incident happened at 1:30 a.m. when the suspects approached the 20-year-old victim. The suspects then pulled a gun on the victim.

The suspects took the victim's cash and I.D. The victim was punched in the face and suffered minor injuries.

The male suspect is believed to be in his 20s and has short wavy hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored Ecko hooded sweatshirt, green shorts and a ball cap.

The female suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police.

3 arrested for attempting to use counterfeit money

Three people are under arrest for trying to use counterfeit money in Waikiki.

According to police, a 51-year-old man used phoney bills to make purchases twice.

A 40-year-old Moiliili woman was arrested at another store.

She told officers she received the money from a 49-year-old man.

That suspect was arrested on forgery and drug charges.

Woman faces attempted murder charges

A 21-year-old woman is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to run over another woman.

According to police, on Aug. 6 the 22-year-old victim reported Genalee Lana tried to run her over in Waikiki.

The victim called police after spotting Lana at the Food Pantry in Waikiki on Tuesday.

Police look for suspect in attempted ATM holdup

Police are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob a man at an automatic teller machine in the Ala Moana area.

Investigators said a 27 year-old man was attempting to withdraw money from the ATM at around 5 p.m. Saturday when he was confronted by the suspect, who brandished a handgun and demanded money. The man refused, and the suspect fled on foot before police arrived.

The man was not injured in the incident. Police are classifying the case as first-degree robbery.

Two men arrested following alleged robbery

An alleged Waikiki robbery landed two men in police custody.

Robert Aguirre and Solomon Amadeo robbed a man in a parking lot and ordered him to drive.

The victim reportedly escaped when he slammed the brakes and jumped out of the car right next to a couple of police officers, who were at a separate crime scene.

Aguirre and Amadeo are facing kidnapping and robbery charges.
