Governor Releases $92.8 Million for Highways, Airports and Harbors

Governor Neil Abercrombie today announced the release of more than $92.8 million for various Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) designed to maintain, upgrade and expand transportation infrastructure across Hawaii.

"Our highways, airports and harbors are essential to island commerce and our way of life; everyone depends on the daily reliability and functionality of this core infrastructure," said Governor Abercrombie.

US Rep. Michele Bachmann to speak at Ala Moana Hotel

US Rep. Michele Bachmann to speak at Ala Moana Hotel

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is headed to the islands to speak at a luncheon in Waikiki on Wednesday.

Bachmann, a founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, will offer her insight into the 2011 Congress at the Ala Moana Hotel. Approximately 200 people are expected to attend the luncheon sponsored by local think tank Grassroot Institute of Hawaii.

The event will take place in the Hibiscus Room II from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are available to the public for $35 per person, which includes lunch. Self parking will be available for six dollars.
