HONOLULU, HI (May 15, 2013) – The Waikiki Aquarium will once again host its popular “Ke Kani O Ke Kai” summer concert series, offering visitors and residents an evening of live entertainment and food under the stars. The concerts will be held every other Thursday from June 13 through August 8, 2013. The 2013 Ke Kani O Ke Kai performance line-up includes:

The Waikiki Aquarium to host special performance of Ohia Productions’ “In the Clear Blue Sea.” Guests are invited to join the Aquarium for a free show that explores the fascinating marine creatures that inhabit Hawai‘i’s coral reefs. “Dive” below the ocean’s surface to meet Liona the Lionfish, Coach Polyp and Zoe the Zooxanthellae as they teach the audience important lessons about safely playing on the coral reef, the delicate balance of the ocean food chain, protecting Hawai‘i’s native sea turtles and more. Free crafts and activities will also be available following the show.

WAIKIKI, HI (September 21, 2012) – Oh ‘mon cheri’! The Honolulu Zoo will soon be sharing the love when it welcomes Pepé, a male black and white skunk, the only one of its kind in Hawaii. Pepé, named after the Looney Tunes Show character favorite Pepé Le Pew, will be unveiled to the public at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, during a special ceremony.
 
The opening event will feature educational activities, such as the opportunity to smell a vial of skunk scent, see a skunk footprint, and learn about the skunk’s anatomy. The first 10 guests will also receive a plush skunk.
 
“We are excited to have such a unique opportunity to house Hawaii’s one and only skunk at the Honolulu Zoo.
